Anteaters originate from South America.  Some people keep them as pets, while I would prefer not to.  Their favorite foods are ants and termites; but some pet owners feed their anteater canned cheese, coconuts, cream sicle and wine.  I guess the anteater would eat pretty much anything it could get its sharp talons on.

There are three different species of the anteater.  These species include the Giant Anteater, the Collared Anteater (also known as the Tamandua), and the Silky Anteater.

They love to dig with their claws, and hunt down ants and termites with their long worm-like tongues.  Their long tube-like snouts do not include any teeth!
